Up until about a week ago, I've had no problems with my laptop (Razer Blade running Windows 10). Recently, i've had horrible lag issues, but only with a handful of programs (so far). Chrome, Eclipse, Powerpoint, Adobe, and others work perfectly, but other non-cpu intensive programs (most notably Microsoft Word) cause my computer to go into overdrive. Any mouse movements are delayed by a few seconds, and everything responds in slow motion. It's not taking up an unordinary amount of CPU usage. Any ideas what the issue could be and how I could address it?

What build of Windows are you using? 20H2 or 2004.
Check to see if there was a major Windows update just before the problem began, it may be the 20H2 update has caused the slowdown.
Have you run any antivirus scans (Malwarebytes, AdwCleaner) to be sure you’re clean? If not & these programs find something the post in the Malware removal forum.
Have you restarted the PC?
Do you have fast startup enabled? If so disable this then restart.

Thanks for the reply. I'm using 2004. I've run scans using Avast and haven't been able to find anything. i've restarted numerous times, and just disabled fast startup and restarted again. unfortunately, it didn't help.

I would still run those programs.
How much RAM do you have?
What’re the full specs of the Laptop?
Have you checked for any driver &/or BIOS updates?
