Hey there, I'm new here. Hopefully, someone can help me I'm kinda desperate.
I bought a used gaming lap three days ago, it's a Lenovo Y50. I am having issues to play games on this.

I'm trying to play my steam games with the NVIDIA GTX 860, but it keeps closing me most games I open on Steam. Doesn't happens with 2D games like Sonic CD or Sonic Mania.
When I changed UMA to Switchable graphics on BIOS, NVIDIA Control Panel is now working fine (Yeah I installed the drivers), when I put it again to UMA, NVIDIA Control Panel doesn't work and UMA it's using Intel HD graphics. Even installing the drivers again doesn't work on UMA, it throws me an error that says there couldn't find any GPU. My GPU also disappears from Device Manager (unless I am on Switchable Graphics, it appears again).

In Switchable Graphics, I can install NVIDIA drivers, when I'm in UMA, doesn't and NVIDIA Control Panel doesn't work unless I am in Switchable Graphics on BIOS.

I already did stuff that supposed to let me use my GPU, but it doesn't let me anyway even when I'm on Switchable Graphics. On UMA it keeps using Intel HD Graphics.
I also already changed on NVIDIA Control Panel to use my NVIDIA GTX 860 with Switchable Graphics, but doesn't work, it keeps closing my games anyway. I also tried to reinstall Steam and Steam isn't the problem.
I didn't reinstalled the OS because when I bought it, it was clean, just ready with the drivers.

Is there any other way to put my NVIDIA GPU to work?

My PC specs is Windows 7 64 bits, Intel Core i7 4700 2.50GHz 4th generation with Intel HD Graphics 4600, and NVIDIA GTX 860M 8GB RAM

Thanks

Welcome to PCHF Kanjii,

I already did stuff that supposed to let me use my GPU, but it doesn't let me anyway even when I'm on Switchable Graphics.

Can you tell us exactly you have tried so as to avoid any repetition.

In case you are not already aware, the idea of having switchable graphics is to prolong battery life as in the Intel HD video gets used when you are only browsing the web or doing office or school type work and the dedicated video chip should only come into use when gaming or streaming videos etc
