I use Windows 10.

I like Google, so I went into Settings>Privacy, search, services>Address bar and search>Search engine used in address bar>I set Google as the default. Then I went into Manage search engine>Google is the default. But when I launch Edge, the MS Bing homepage appears. And when I open a new search tab, the Bing homepage appears.

Also, in Control Panel>Internet Options>Programs>Manage Add-ons>Search Providers, Bing is enabled. And when I right click on Bing, the Remove option is not highlighted. So I can't select to Remove Bing. Thanks for any replies.

any reason why you want to use Edge as your default browser?
if you like Google, why not use Chrome? or Firefox? both are far more widely used than Edge.

yes Edge is an improvement on Internet Explorer (especially now it uses the Chromium engine), but in my experience, the world has poo-poo'd Edge and left it in the dust.

I don't use (or like) Edge, but being a Microsoft product, as Bing is, and with Bing being so poorly used, I'd suspect MS has embedded Bing into their browser for obviously reasons. :)

What is set as the default Homepage for Edge? Usually this is the Bing/Microsoft homepage. You should be able to add your own Homepage website or set it to show a blank page.

Has more to do with Internet Explorer than Edge.

The only way to change this is to add a search to it by clicking the link in the lower left.
Find More Search Providers...

Once the page load (there maybe 2 tabs) close the on that is asking you to download and use Edge.
If it show up or you can just select the first Tab.
From here Find Google and click Add >
Then Click the Add.

It may not show in the list until you close that window than reopen.

Select Google and in the bottom right click Default.

Under Ccleaner
Start Ccleaner.
Hit tools.
Browser Plugins.
Select the Edge Tab on the top.
Find bing there, then select disable.

Note: Edge must be closed prior to doing this.
