Visiting a web site and tried contacting a company by each of the three email addresses given. I just cannot get any of these addresses to work. When I hover over either, the cursor changes to the usual ‘hand’ but it just doesn’t work when clicked on. I’ve tried double-clicking etc. to no avail.

However, I have no problem when using my phone. I have contacted the company who assure me that the links work fine. I do notice that the email address do contain an extra space that the company tells me is to stop ‘robots’.

Can anyone please explain and offer suggestions.
Thanks. Mark.

What program are you using to send receive email with?

What browser and version are you using?

What security programs are you using and have you checked them to make sure that they are not blocking?

If the email address contain an ‘extra space’ that would suggest it’s not a valid address, but then it works on your phone apparently.

can you just right click and copy it, then paste it into a new email?

Thanks both for your replies received overnight. I will try to answer the points raised. (I will mention that I’m 87 so not as fast as I used to be!)

My main email programme is Google Mail although I still have an old Windows Live Mail account.

The Browser I normally use is Chrome. Details: Google Chrome is up to date Version 92.0.4515.131 (Official Build) (64-bit)

I have AVG installed but not sure how to check what is asked for.

I contacted the company about their website email addresses that have a space before and after the ‘@’. They tell me that it's done to fool any robots and this is the first time anyone has reported a problem.

I have tried ‘Copy & Paste’ but the company tells me this won't work. I also tried writing in the email address without the spaces and send a mail but this bounced. This morning I dusted off a very old PC (and painfully slow) and finally managed to get to the website email addresses. Clicking on the relevant one and it worked, and have just sent a test email to the company to see if it arrives.

I think that covers all your questions and many thanks for your interest.

Lets try resetting Chrome and see if that make a difference.
