Hey all!

I'm having an issue with my windows 10 install and can't seem to find the right answer online.

I built a new PC and everything is working as it should. It boots. The BIOS is up to date, as originally it wouldn't recognize my Ryzen 5 5600, but after the update it does.

I booted the PC via usb with the windows 10 installation media, and the installation goes fine, completes and when the PC reboots if goes right back to the installation screen again.

I tried removing the USB, restarting and changing the boot priority, but it doesn't list my SSD under any of the boot priority options. I know the SSD is recognized because it shows up under the storage settings in BIOS. It seems like it isn't recognizing it as an option to boot at all despite the windows 10 installation being successful.

I have read a lot of people having success by removing any other hard drive, but this SSD is the only drive attached to the PC at all. Does anyone have any ideas?
 
Did you make the install with windows creation tool or rufus?
Reinstall Win 10 Fresh Install

Download the win 10 tool run it to recreate the flash drive – Must be minimum 8GB

In the video at 2:54 you will notice it restarts the computer.
When you are doing this and you get to that point Remove the usb stick whilst it is restarting.
Also if you want to setup a local account instead of logging in with a Microsoft account
Turn off your wireless network and or remove the network cable.
This point is 3.32 in the video - Choose I don't have internet.
If you want to log in with a Microsoft account then leave the network as is.



Before doing any install, it is a good idea to go to the support page for your system. Download the drivers you are going to need ie chipset, sound, video, wireless, etc. While win10 has a lot of native drivers, microsoft drivers are designed for ease of use and are NOT designed for any type of performance. Store these drivers on another usb or you can even just make a folder on your install usb when you are finished making the install usb. Copy the drivers into that folder.

When you are finished with the install, and then install your drivers. Install the chipset first then the rest of them. Reboot each time when prompted.

Did you download the media creation tool & choose to create media For another PC?
Is the SSD new? Do you have another drive with which you can test install Windows to rule out a drive fault?
 
Could you list the motherboard model and SSD model.

Also confirm the connection type for the SSD and that it is connected properly.
 
Hey guys. After exhausting every option I ended up buying a new SSD and the windows 10 download was issue free so I think there was a problem with the original SSD. Thanks for the help.
