I already posted this on the Windows Phone subreddit a couple of months ago, but got no traction there.
Thought I would post this here hopefully to get someone from Microsoft to take action. The Project My Screen App for Windows 10 used to work great but for the last 6 months, it will not display the Windows phone screen. The app launches fine, the phone responds asking permission to allow viewing of the phone screen but instead of showing the screen, it's just a black area.
If you use your mouse in that area, the phone responds to drags, clicks, etc. but the app on the PC screen just stays black.
I know that you can forward this to the team that developed the app. It should take about 2 minutes to fix. I'm guessing there is a Z-order problem or something else very simple.
I know there aren't a lot of us Windows Phone users out there, but this seriously impact the ability to create videos for Windows phone users.
Here's the site for the app. The app hasn't been updated since 2016. It broke during the Windows 10 April Update.

We are not affiliated with Microsoft at all so there will be no action taken by Microsoft from this site. https://answers.microsoft.com

You will need to contact Microsoft directly as we stated before we are not a Microsoft site.

Since the software has not been updated since 2016 Microsoft may not update it.

Have you tried resetting the application back to factory settings then try or rechecked the settings to make sure they are correct.
