it said something about "WER-201515-0.sysdata.xml" which I found in hidden folder AppData
 
I have Win 7 64 bit
DDR3 one stick of 1600mhz corsair vengeance
Asrock H55M GE R 2.0 motherboard
i3 540
I use integrated GPU
Seasonic SSII 520w bronze psu

Everything is at stock settings,no overclocking,but it was overclocked to 4.2ghz for like 5 years.Its self build system,7 year old.About year back,it started crashing and freezing so I dialed everything back to stock,it was ok for many months but now its getting really bad,it crashes or freezes as often as once every day.Usually it freezes and there are really weird artifacts glitches on screen.There are weird geometric color patterns and green and black zones,I tried to google it but found nothing like it,its not ordered pattern,but not pure chaos either,I tried so hardto find some similiar pictures online but there is nothing that looks even close.

This last time it didnt freeze but gave BSOD,so something is changing.

It crashed to BSOD again,it seems like era of trippy glitchy freezes is over,now its just BSODing.When it happened it was just idling,no programs running,yesterday I ran Prime 95 stress test and everything was fine,so its doesnt look like the cpu utilization and power draw have any effect.

Also this time,I had my headphones connected and it played loud buzzing tone into the headphones when the blue screen was showing,it was like 1000 Hz saw tooth wave.

I am noob electronic engineer student.I decided to test my new multimeter so I touched the probe with one of the powersupply connectors,the one with 4 holes in series and it made the PC restart so I dont have the BSOD report.I ordered new power supply,any idea if I can test the power supply with multimeter if its ok?I was thinking I can test if the voltage is correct,maybe in AC mode it have enough bandwidth to measure ripple,dont know how fast is the psu switching.

I opened the powersupply and the capacitors seems ok,they are high quality nippon chemicon and they arent bulging.The Power supply was never loaded to more than one third of its maximum power,its 520w supply and I never used more than 180W.I wonder if its the psu,I dont want to waste money on buying new in hopes to solve this problem,this definately seems like its hardware problerm.

1. Copy any dmp files from C:\Windows\Minidump onto the desktop.
2. Select all of them, right-click on one, and click on Send To> New Compressed (zipped) Folder.
3. Upload the zip folder using the More Reply Options tab, Choose File then the Attach This File tab., bottom left of the dialogue input box.

Please take expanded screenshots and only use the method below to attach them.


Download Speedfan from here and install it. Once it's installed, run the program and post here the information it shows. The information I want you to post is the stuff that is circled in the example picture I have attached.


If you are running on a vista machine, please go to where you installed the program and run the program as administrator.

Download then run HWMonitor and post a screenshot so that we have a comparison to the Speedfan results, details from here



To capture and post a screenshot;


Click on the ALT key + PRT SCR key..its on the top row..right hand side..now click on start...all programs...accessories...paint....left click in the white area ...press CTRL + V...click on file...click on save...save it to your desktop...name it something related to the screen your capturing... BE SURE TO SAVE IT AS A .JPG ...otherwise it may be to big to upload... Click on the Upload a File tab then after typing in any response you have... click on Post Reply like you normally would.


Screenshot instructions are provided to assist those that may read this topic but are not yet aware of the “how to”.

holy s..t!!! I don't know if there reading are correct but its showing that AUX temperature is like 120 Celsius!

also,I touched the VRM on my motherboard and it seemed too hot considering the pc is just idling.It felt like 65 Celsius,I cant touch it longer than 3 seconds.

edit: I touched hidden VRM that's under my massive noctua d14 heatsink and its super hot,its like 75 Celsius I think,and that's plastic part,inside it might very well be 110

AUXTIN is the PSU temperature sensor if there is one, the PSU being seven years old and out of warranty means it should have been replaced before now, there is also a chance that it is overheating.

Can we have any crash dmps that you may have.

this is 3 minidump files in rar

I have read that the AUX temperature reading is often not truth,HW monitor is between 110 to 250 and speedfan around 120,I am skeptical about the reading especialy when there is many threads on internet where people say these are error and not reality.

Chrome is implicated in two of the three crash dmps, Avast directly on one but also shown to have had issues with drivers not loading in the other two dmps.

When did you start using Avast AV.
What AV did you have before Avast.
Did your present problems start after installing Avast.

Please note that the artifacts and Windows crashing are almost certain to be separate issues.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.
 
Yesterday I installed second operating system on my hard drive.I divided my HDD into two 500 gig halves and installed Windows 10,it crashed two times a day,I only found single minidump file.

The problems with PC started about year ago,at the time I was using Windows defender and free Avira.Four months ago I made fresh start with win 7,I completely deleted everything.I also installed Avast free version when I reinstalled my windows,everything was fine,it started really freezing often about two weeks ago.

Was this running Windows 10.

The latest crash is related to Windows 10, the following to be more precise PROCESS_NAME: MicrosoftEdgeC

Have you fully updated Windows 10 since the clean install.

Have you installed the Windows 10 drivers for the MB on the Windows 10 partition.

Have you installed Avast on the Windows 10 partition.
 
1. The first minidump file I uploaded was from win 7... I runned win 7 all the time,it was only 9 days back when I created this thread that I partitioned my hard drive and installed win 10 for dual boot possibility.The second minidump file I uploaded was from bsod occuring on the new win 10.

2. I noticed it crashes only when I have Edge internet browser open,but I have it open nearly always so I don't know if it is the problem.

3. Yes,fully updated.

4. No,I checked and this motherboard is 7 years old,it doesn't have win 10 drivers I believe.

5. I installed Avast three months back when I did clean install of win 7,but on this win 10 partition there is no antivirus except the default ms defender.
 
We cannot help with two BSOD related Windows 7 and 10 issues in the same thread, Windows 7 being the first OS to boot on the HDD is the one that you should look to get sorted out first.

You need to use the computer while it is running Windows 7 and if it consequently crashes upload the latest crash dmps for us, please do not post any Windows 10 crash dmps in this thread else it will cause confusion.
 
Any update for us fadkda? If unreplied to within 48hrs this thread will be closed.
