Solved Bootable DVD from Windows 7 ISO

Extract the Windows 7 ISO and copy all files to a blank DVD. Then insert it on my PC boot from it. But it is a black screen, indicating it is not a bootable device.

How are you extracting (with what program) and have you set the boot order in the BIOS

extracting the iso with winzip. I did set usb as the booting media in bios

Lets extract the ISO a different way.

What Operating System and Version is on the system that you are using to extract the ISO file

You cant extract the files and COPY them to a cd/dvd, well you can but don't expect it to work as a bootable disk. You need a burning application to burn the ISO. Have a look here

Try img burn, it will work on all modern Windows

Even if the original ISO was good the boot order was incorrect.

I got the point. The reason why it keeps failing is that the booting info was not written to DVD with a single copy. I did some research and completed the task successfully by following the suggestion in this page via Windows Image Writer works.

P.S imgburn ejects the dvd in afew seconds when the burning starts.
