Hey guys, I've been dealing with an issue ever since i started building PCs and i haven't been able to find a fix for it myself so i thought i'd come here for insight.
3 years ago i built a really solid pc with good components (ryzen 9, 2080super) and the PC ran totally fine, but i had this issue where the bluetooth really sucked. It had an MSI B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC motherboard which has wifi and bluetooth capabilities. I would install all of the proper drivers, hell I'd even install previous bluetooth drivers and nothing i could do would make the bluetooth work properly. It would work for a couple of seconds then start cutting out. I fixed this by buying a Bluetooth 5.2 USB adapter and plugged it into my keyboard so that the Bluetooth receiver was always in range and this helped a lot. (I Should also note that this mainly happened when I had more than 1 Bluetooth device connected to my computer. I use a pair of sony 1000xm4 headphones and a dualsense 5 controller only. Both of them seem to be fairly bandwidth hungry, but Bluetooth 5.2 should be able to handle this if a PS5 can..)
Fast forward to a week ago and I just bought a new rig and sold my old one. This new rig has an MSI MPG B650 Edge WiFi motherboard with WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 integrated. I am having the same issue but worse!!! Now it cuts out with only 1 device connected. Ill be using my headphones and my audio will cut out and not reconnect until i restart my headphones even though my pc says my headphones are still connected. My controller doesn't do this, but walking 2 feet away from my pc and holding my controller close to my body causes the controller to send completely wrong signals to the computer. Makes it unplayable when I'm using my TV to game even though I'm only 5 feet from my PC and It has the latest Bluetooth tech.
I thought i might've just had a faulty Bluetooth chip in my previous PC but now I'm thinking that is not the case. Unless i am just really that unlucky. Does anybody have any insight or previous experience with this?
Just to clarify:
I have played around with all kinds of versions of the bluetooth drivers and none of them made a difference (ive used the first drivers created all the way to the most recent ones posted on the MSI website)
I used windows 10/11 on both PCs and they both still had the same issue (its not windows-version specific)
My PC has always stayed in the same place beneath me underneath my desk(so the signal shouldn't be too far)
