Hey all, here,
I have an external ssd (which is really just an nvme adapter connected to USB 3.0 slot) and I think its causing my computer to crash. Is there anyway to fix this or if am internally dammed. Also let me know if I posted in the wrong fourm or if I'm not providing enough information.

and without the external drive connected, the PC starts OK?
or are you trying to boot from the external drive?

where did the drive come from, out of another PC and you are trying to recover data or re-purpose it?

Yes I am trying to boot from the external ssd. The drive is just a regular ssd with an nvme adapter that connects to the desktop via usb 3.0 port.

and....

does the PC have an internal drive?
and was the drive ever an internal drive before?
is this a new way you are booting that PC or it used to work and now it's not?

Yes it has 2 HDDs and one of the used to House the old OS before I switched it over to the SSD.

without the external SSD connect, does the PC boot OK?
did the PC used to boot from one of the two internal drives?

laptop or desktop?
why not just put the SSD in to the PC? or doesn't the PC have an m.2 slot?

Im on desktop will give specs when i log on again. But no, i do not have an m2 slot hence the nvme adapter so it must used externally because using an hdd as a boot drive is terrible. And yes i did do a fresh install on the ssd and erase all data on both drives beforehand.
