My house has multiple totally random WiFi deadspots and they can be quite frustrating at times. I have a Netgear Nighthawk X4 router. What are my options to fix these dead zones, and what's the best option?
Example:

Hi
It's pretty simple but different for each manufacturer. Basically you set it up as a repeater by connecting to the router (repeater) and specify it to be a repeater and specify a password. Then you connect to that repeater. :)

I use a Belkin N300 Wi-Fi Range Extender in my small house. The setup was painless and I get good coverage. It works well with my Buffalo Technology router as well. Just plug it in to an electrical outlet and follow the setup instructions and your done. :)

I work on the road and stay in motels for most of the year, let me tell you what works to get Wifi from some of these not so great motel wifi....

I am only going to list the hardware that actually works, and works well. I have been through a wide range of items being on the road, these actually work and I own each of these.

I will list them in order of effectiveness...

N300 WiFi Range Extender - Essentials Edition Found HERE
Super USB WiFi Antenna 3 – High Power Long Range 802.11 B G N Wireless
CC X Mile Omni

These tools help me to get wifi when others I work with complain of not being able to connect at all...

How do those work? Do you just plug them in a power outlet that isn't a dead spot and it extends the Range to the deadspots?

You will want to plug these into areas where your existing wifi is about half strength, this way it actually has something to be able to boost.

Well it's been about 6 months since I complained about the bad WiFI in some parts of my house, but we were at the very back of Home Depot 2 days ago and we found a Netgear N300 wireless range extender, and bought it :) I set it up, it was very quick and easy, and it definitely seems to be effective! Thanks for the help!
