I prefer to do my own and not rely on some program that makes changes I don't know about. Too many problems when you let a program run multiple changes and you have no idea what was done.

Make your own changes and write down what the original was and what it was changed to. That way, if youhave problems, you know exactly what to undo.

As Plodr suggests these types of programs can cause issues. They tend to be someone's idea of an easy way to optimize the OS but in truth they usually fall shot of the hype. Simple OS house keeping gets you more bang. There are things you can change to make your computer run better but you must learn what they do and whether they are needed for the way you use your computer. I could write you a book of possible changes but lucky for me that book has been written a thousand times. Read and learn and by all means follow Plodr's advice. Always make note of your changes. It will help when you disable or change something that should be left as is. :)

If you are not having any issues, there is absolutely no reason to run any of these kinds of programs. Not knowing what you are doing, and expecting a 1 click fix solution to speed up your computer will just cause more problems in the long run and most of these kinds of programs don't actually speed up your system in any meaningful way.

If you want to speed up your system then we can help you with that but relying on some easy fix all optimization program is not going to get you the results that you expect.

Read my article that Rusty linked to and just take our advice and avoid these types of programs completely.
