So I while I was browsing the steam store, my screen just up and froze on me. I waited awhile and nothing happened, so I did a manual restart with the power button, and when I started it back up the message from my title was displayed every time I tried to start up my pc. This isn’t my biggest problem though. My keyboard is unresponsive when I get this screen, and my mouse cursor won’t even appear so I can’t even choose advanced startup options. I really hope someone can help me out here, my pc is just totally inaccessible.

Welcome to the forum. Try booting from your win10 dvd and do a repair; as it will often work if windows isn't running from the disk.
If you don't have a disk, you can get one free from here.

Ok so I can't exactly use it because it requires you to be at your desktop right? My computer won't boot past that error screen no matter what, it's completely locked and again because of my mouse and keyboard, I can't access anything. Should I just buy a physical recovery disk instead?

Just so you know, people reply in their free time here.

You could use your phone as a USB. This app will allow such a process to happen. Download windows, on your phone then install the app, boot the Iso install windows.

So I was able to download all the apps on a couple of phones, but was unable to gain the permission to root them for the Drive droid app. They must not of been supported or something.

Also sorry it sounded like I was trying to discount all the help you guys are giving me. Because I really wasn’t, I really do appreciate it.

Cant you download on another pc or get someone to download it for you you can download on any device win10 is all free so no need to buy one

I couldn’t get either of my phones to work as a USB even with all the apps together, so I decided to go buy and 16g flash drive and make a recovery drive from a laptop. Both computers are 64-bit Windows 10, so would this boot PC repair options for my desktop?

So last night I finally was able to get the usb to work with the windows 10 media creation tool on it, which is weird I didn’t think you could get windows 10 over another windows 10. Anyways I’m finally back into my computer but I wanted to get some input on a couple of big issues.

First of all, I thought that it would completely reset my pc and wipe my hard drive when I reinstalled windows 10 like I wanted. But for some reason my old desktop background shows up and I have a Windows.old file and a Windows.old.000 file, I’m not sure what the difference is if someone could tell me.

Also, I want to wipe my hard drive with the reset my pc option, but I’m pretty sure I still have the unresponsive keyboard and nonexistent mouse issue when in booting stages so I’m afraid I still won’t be able to select any option or get into BIOS or anything like that.

At least I’m in my PC now, I think I’m gonna cry.

the \windows folder is your current system folder, \windows.old is the system files for the previous installation of Windows, and \windows.old.000 is the one before that again.
if you try reloading Windows another time, you'll get \windows.old.001
when you want to clean up the old Windows folders, use the cleanmgr c: from an elevated command prompt.

if I understand your 3rd paragraph correctly, is your keyboard/mouse not working when you are at certain stages of booting the PC, like trying to get into BIOS or using the Advanced Startup Options menu?
but they work once Windows boot up? (like you have used to type this post?)
if so, and they are wireless devices, that may explain it, get USB ones and try that.

Yea they don't work in either of those instances and they are indeed USB. They both turn on when the PC starts but nothing on the keyboard is responsive, and its pretty much the same with the mouse, the cursor won't even appear on screen. This continues until right before the login screen appears then I have access to them again. I should also mention that during the time they aren't working the Num Lock on the keyboard will appear to be on, but I won't be able to turn it off and on again until right before the login screen.
I do also have them both hooked up to a separate USB port but it hasn't made a difference.

I do want to ask If I delete the old windows files that way, will it completely wipe them from the hard drive, because honestly, I don't ever want to be able to recover them again.

Its seems to be sending everything to the recycle bin, doesn't that just "hide" what's put in there or is it actually overwriting what's in the drive. I have like 600G plus I want to completely erase

Ok so I thought it erased everything, but when I checked AVG it said I could recover them all, how can I actually wipe everything on the hard drive without getting rid of windows 10?
