Hi everyone,

So, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to laptops and in general and had a quick question regarding Single and dual ram.

I decided to upgrade my ram from 8Gb to 16gb. My current 8gb ram is dual 2x4gb and i've just purchased a single stick of 16gb ram (by accident as i was actually looking for dual).

My question is: Can I keep one of the existing sticks of 4gb and add the 16gb or do i need to take both out and have only the 16gb? Can I even use the single 16gb?

sorry for for asking but I don't have much experienece.
