so i recenty got a 3840 x 2160 4k screen 59hz

only had an HDMI cable capable of 2k at 59hz so i went to the store got a 4k ultra hd HDMI that says it can handle 3840 x 2160 up to 60hz and yet i am still capped at 30hz

i also did have DP cable which worked fine at 4k for a month then my screen started flickering constantly going black and then showing the screen then going black again constantly so had to switch to HDMI

but now that i had bought an HDMI cable that is suppose to handle upwards to 60hz my computer caps me at 30 for some reason please help

(i am bad with computer stuffs so if there are additional information you need i'll try my best to provide it)
 
sorry that no-one has chimed in yet.
probably, like me, members who have read this have nothing to suggest.
personally, I'm yet to get into 4K stuff, and not being a gamer, maybe I'll never need to. :)
