Hi, I'd like to ask a question. My PC is having an issue where, during booting and upon entering the desktop, it deletes an item on the desktop. However, it doesn't immediately delete the item; a confirmation pop-up appears with options to confirm or cancel before deleting the item.

This process keeps repeating until the CPU usage reaches 100%. I've already formatted the entire hard drive, so I don't think it's likely caused by a virus.

When I access the BIOS, everything runs normally without any issues. However, when I try to access DOS, the symptoms reappear, but this time it's not deleting, it's displaying a tilde (~).

I'm seeking assistance to determine whether the issue is related to hardware or software (BIOS). Any insights would be appreciated.

Yes...windows 7 ultimate ...after finished installing, computer went normal (the first booting after finished installing os)

But after restarting (once I finished installing necessary driver and software) , the issue coming back ...it delete or "end" process (if I go to task manager) anything I interact with ....

if I click drive D , it delete the drive ...if I interact with any process listed on task manager, it end the process ...it keep delete or tried to end the process untill it create lots of task that eat CPU usage

It's like button "del" is malfunction but it seems it not the case because I tried to updating the bios by entering dos mode ,the tilde button keep entered ( video is in my previous post)

So to summary during installing window , I can input any text (set computer ñame etc that need user input) without any issue untill install os finished

...driver instalation is using USB stick.., but let say I get infected via USB , shouldn't there no error when Im entering dos mode?

Computer is only using single hdd that that split into C and D which I wipe all of them

Os installation done via USB stick , I use wintoflàsh to burn windows iso into usb

Driver and software also using USB stick, software I install is just WinRAR since the driver is packed in rar àrchive

So I use 2 USB

Laptop is from asus, but the model I have no idea (the sticker on laptop body are eroded)

Could it be the issue come from hardware failure? Weak to almost failed hardware ? The laptop is never used for like 7 year ...only several day before I took it from cabinet ,clean it and install new os

what was the original OS?

age could be playing a factor.

Windows 7 is no longer supported and or patched and is considered a security risk to be used.

With out knowing the hardware that is in the system it is hard to properly guide.

The BIOS main page will show you the systems make and model and some of the hardware.

Have you attempted Safe Mode and if so does that preform any better?

Where did the Windows 7 come from?

Where did the drivers come from?

I've downloaded all of them from internet (WinRAR,driver and windows OS)

I'll try to disamble the laptop part to try to clean it maybe there's dust or dirt that causing the del or tilde button going crazy ...and if that not work I'll try bios update...

I'm convinced that it wasn't caused by virus since I run the laptop without any os

What do you think about that?

I've downloaded all of them from internet

If you are not getting them for the laptops manufacture, then they are the wrong ones.

Specifically from where?
OS and Drivers

Just downloading form, the internet can cause more issues than one thinks.

Which is why the make and model are important otherwise garbage in garbage out.

and if that not work I'll try bios update

Some BIOS updates can only update through the OS. If you get the incorrect one, then the system will be a great paperweight.

Laptop is from asus, but the model I have no idea (the sticker on laptop body are eroded)

Which is why you need to have this information.

dust or dirt that causing the del or tilde button going crazy

Tearing down the laptop may not help this possibly cause by a stuck key on the keyboard.

I'm convinced that it wasn't caused by virus since I run the laptop without any os

That you can access the BIOS ya with almost any system you can do that.

@rusty

Thank you for all support and help , I think I fix the issues...I have disamble my laptop and cleaned all dirt and dust ...

Aparantly asus keyboard connected by 2 plate of some kind aluminum or metal (not like desktop keyboard) ..so when we press any button on keyboard the first plate (connected to upper layer keyboard) will touch the second plate

perhaps it shorted or something like that ...I have clean everything, ram connector,HDD connector etc and reassemble the laptop and it's working ..

So thank you @rusty for all support and help..maybe I can mark this thread as "solved"
