windows 11 update (zwart scherm)

Good morning PC helpers.

I have a problem with yesterday's March 15, 2023 Windows Update.

.

Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (K85023706)

After booting my laptop, it was installed, but unfortunately everything crashed.

That was the result of a black screen and a mouse pointer with a spinning circle around it. And flashy image.

But after trying everything for a while, I finally got into system recovery by repeatedly turning off my laptop.

After that, I was able to enter Bitlocker's code and happily restore it.

But in the evening the same Update was present again, so I tried again.

And yes another black screen with rotating circle around the mouse pointer.

Can anyone tell me why this might be the case?

And would it be wise to disable the Windows Updates?

Greetings Nico

I've started the rollout of the March Update myself at work on Win10 and Win11 units.
so far no issues.

maybe if you get the update as but of the Build rather than as an addition to your current build.
so with that theory, get use the Windows Media Creation Tool to create a bootable USB stick with the complete latest version.
boot from that USB and perform as clean install.
backup your data first!
