Thanks for the advise..ordered new one with win7.Windows 7 receives monthly patches through January 14, 2020.
You don't need support from MS since at the end of June 2017, Windows 7 shares was at 49% . There are lots of forums that will offer you any Windows 7 help you need; don't let end of mainstream support scare you. (I have NEVER depended on MS for support and I've been using computers since the 70's).
I know is is crazy to stick with it...but i was late getting to computers and learned on win7...tried win10. Several months ago and my old 75 yr old brain just couldn't grasp6 it...and due to health problems and have6 to get a laptop...at my age don't want to start over.Just a shame to use an O/S 3 generations old, and 10 has much going for it.
Same here, plodr. Windows 7 will see me out. I am nearly 73yrs.I'm an old timer. (I'll be 70 later this month and my husband will be 74). I'm sticking with Windows 7 until it is no longer patched in January 2020. Then I will move to Android and/or linux. I want no parts of Windows 10 - EVER! No more Windows for me beyond 7.
