So I have three drives, my primary OS drive is C, and I have a D, and E drive for storage. When I delete a file from D or E drive does windows actually move the file to C drive into the recyle bin, or does it just basically create a shortcut to the file in the recyle bin? I'm asking because I was thinking if it actually moves the file to the C drive wouldn't that cause a lot of unneeded wear and tear on that drive which is a M.2 NVME? I think it would make a lot more sense if the recycle bin just contained shortcuts to the file on the other drive.
