Hello everyone i'm back again :).
ok i just built a new pc and my specs are as follows
an intel I7-11700k
32 gigs of DDR 4 memory at 3600 mhz
and a geforce rtx 3070
and a gen 4 nvme drive 2TB

ok so i am wondering when i'm going to have to upgrade my system
the only thing i do on it is watch youtubes stream music and play world of warcraft. i don't play any triple aaa games since i have a ps5
thoughts and intputs.
as my old pc literally exploded!!!

the rest of my specs are
case is a corsair 5000D air flow
the psu is a corsair RM 850
the aio is the corsair icue H15oi elete capellix xt
i will post what motherboard i'm using when i get home
the nvme drive is a cosair MP 600 pro 2 TB

your memory, GPU, processor, and PSU are all excellent.
but there are other things, like motherboard, we know nothing about, so let’s get your complete PC specs.

get Speccy from here; https://www.piriform.com/speccy/builds
in Speccy, click File > Publish Snapshot (hit Yes if prompted to proceed with publish) > Copy to Clipboard > Close.
now you can paste (Ctrl+V) that link into your next post.

Have to is a very strong term, I have worked on computer from over 30 years ago and they're still capable of doing what they were designed for, granted they can't always handle modern programs and applications.

With that caveat out of the way, what are you planning on doing with your computer? Why do you want to upgrade? An 11th gen i7 and 30 series GPU will stream content and play video games no problem, if you already have that system I wouldn't waste your money - quite frankly.

Is this a system that you built or had built by ASUS?

As @Pyro stated and I have stated no need to waist money.

Unless you are starting to notice a failure someplace there is no reason to upgrade.

Unless something that you are wanting to run requires better specs than you currently have no real reason to upgrade.

So many variables that come into play when upgrading. If you upgrade this or that are the other parts combatable.

ok speccy didn't pick up my second drive wich is a seagate barracuda 2TB HDD. but it croaked a few days after install waiting for an rma

If it is dead remove it from the system to prevent damage to the system. Which also explains why the report did not show it especially if Windows cannot see it.

the system i ran speccy on is the system i built. the asus one the psu blew up and i threw it out. i did remove the dead HDD. i agree with pyro plus also doing small upgrades costs$$$ and there's np wow factor i'm good for what i use it for there alot of pc smoothness and it's well balanced!!!

I'll just put money into a new OLED display at the end of the year and get rid of my old samsung. it seems that i would get more out of a nicer display since i have a decent card

If you're gaming a 144 Hz monitor is a nice upgrade, but you have what appears to be a nice 4k monitor, depending on what games you play I'd be tempted to stick with that even.

Be careful with OLEDs, they're more suceptible to burn-in than IPS screens.
