I recently build a PC about a month ago with the following specs:
Asus b450m-k ii
Ryzen 7 3700x
Gtx 1660 super
16gb ram

After about like a week from when I got it, the PC started having random restarts (the screen and periphels would go out and the computer would reboot, but the fans and LEDs in my case stayed on)

I thought it was a software issue at first because the restarts kept going until my windows eventually failed and got corrupted so I had it reinstalled at a shop and the issue webt away for a while.

The issue is now back again and it pretty much happens everytime the PC gets even slightly loaded (a lot of chrome tabs, opening hp a game etc)

What exactly do I need to take back to the shop? One of my friends had me do a couple tests and settled on the PSU being bad, but a couple forums said it could be the RAM or the CPU or the motherboard.

They never had the same exact issue though, so I thought I should ask. How do I move forward?

i would be taking just the tower back.
tell them the circumstances that make it happen for you so they have as better chance of having it happen to them.
also, before taking it back, try and get the process down pat that makes it reboot if you can.
the more info they have, the faster they can pinpoint the fault and the sooner you'll get it back.

it could be any of those components you mentioned. :)

I did just today and the guy couldn't figure out what was wrong. I had him try a different power supply and a different ram. He told me to try a different HDD/SSD. We did a furmark test. No bueno. It passes the test for minutes even, but the minute I decide to open up a game or something, it just reboots. The guy is telling me it's probably a software issue that he can't help me with.

I think they ran a drivers app while installing my windows and it just installed all the drivers for the mobo & the other parts

That is 100% the wrong way to things and any reputable tech would know this.

Once Windows has been clean installed you must then install first the MBs chipset drivers, then the storage/SATA drivers and third the graphics drivers, the drivers can either come from a disk provided by the motherboard manufacturer or downloaded from their site and saved to a flash drive etc, this is a must and Windows should not be allowed to check for updates before it has been done as more often than not Windows installs the wrong drivers or in the incorrect order and this can cause all sorts of problems.

Can you post the brand and model name or number of the power supply (PSU).

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

The above on its own tells us that you need a better PSU

No system drivers have been installed.

Your RAM is only working in single channel so performance will suck as the CPU will be severely bottlenecked.
