it randomly started working again after yesterday but would it still be possible for advice and suggestions to be given in case it happens again?
 
Find the best dns server for your machine.

 
To add to what has already been stated.

No particular order and one at a time and see if that clears it up.

If it happens again reboot the modem and router if there is one.

Reboot the computer may have been a fluke for whatever reason.

reset the NIC to factory via Command and or Windows.

This should put a text file on your desktop. Please attach the file in your reply.
