I'm fairly certain at this point, it is not a malware issue.

I'd like to see one last log to confirm.

Download Quick Diag to your desktop.
Very Important!! -- Make sure program is on your desktop.
Disable your Antivirus/Antispyware prior to scanning.
Right Click Run as Administrator.
Select the Quick Scan.

  • Disable Windows Defender, Firewall & Antivirus prior to running this tool!!
  • Save AdsFix to your desktop.
  • Right Click & Run As Administrator.
  • With an infected machine, it could take several seconds to be charged.
  • You will then be prompted to install Certificates.
  • Install then click OK.
  • Right Click & Run As Administrator Again.

  • Click Options then select Unlock the deletion.
  • Then click on clean.
  • Enter your country
  • Don’t use the machine while scanning and be patient
  • Once the scan has completed, please Attach the report in your next reply.
  • The report will be C:\AdsFix_date_hour.txt or on your dektop with the same name.

Ok ok, I disable Windows Defender before scan but only the first two options
And now I have another problem, I guess I need to reinstall windows because I can't use Menu bar and neither search apps
So tomorrow I'll send report file

I reinstalled Windows few hours ago

No need for the scan. With a format, any malware that may or may not have been on the machine is gone. I'll move this thread back to windows 10.

I have tagged some help for you, this is a hardware issue with your machine and or the USB. Easiest way to check would be if you have another usb device, does it work with the machine?

so I do not have to read the entire post
Besides the old laptop do you have another computer you can test the usb on? Friend, Neighbour etc.
When you reinstalled windows did you reinstall the chipset drivers for the motherboard.

I have had usb -(supposed to be quality) die in 6 months.
The backup has some pictures, videos, and music,
If you want this data from the old laptop do it the easy way.
We setup a network share - transfer the files via network
Throw usb in rubbish bin

also concur.

3 sticks work, 1 stick doesn't - would certainly point to failed stick.
and as Peter has said, price (implying quality) has no bearing.
the 'better' sticks tend to last longer, but every stick I've had eventually dies.
just like any storage medium you could argue!
