Hey guys i just need some help on this issue i’m having where whenever i plug a usb device into any usb port on my pc my monitor doesn’t turn off but goes black and is still getting input from my pc, i have tried different monitors still the same response and even diffrent mice, keyboard’s etc the only thing that has been able to work is some random old keyboard i found with no brand, i’m not big into pc issues so i really don’t know what i should be looking for or how to fix it

My specs

AMD Ryzen 3600x
GIGABYTE 3070 Geforce Force RTX vision d
16gb Gskill trydant z neo
GIGABYTE B550 Vision D
Samsung 1Tb SSD
RM750x Corsair

It’s not one in particular many cause it, i have tried 5 diffrent mouses 3 diffrent keyboards and even my mic all individually

yes if no usb device is plugged in the PC behaves normally

is the PC about 3 years old?
and this problem has only just started happening?
any correlation to some event - new hardware, new program, Windows update?0

what OS are you running?
what happened about a year ago that warranted the OS to be reinstalled?

Yes the pc is about three years old

i’m running microsoft 10

reinstalled the OS a year ago due to this issue and have only really got to fixing it now

the issue happened out of no where i was playing on it and went to sleep, when i woke up the issue started occurring

and when you say you have tried all USB ports, you mean front and back, and USB3 & USB2 ports?

if so, it sounds like the motherboard, but for it to be all USB headers on the mobo, and the back I/O panel, that's not something I have seen.

have you checked inside the USB device ports for bent pins.
have you tried just one USB device, say the keyboard, and see if that's OK?

otherwise, all I've got (as you've already reloaded Win10) apart from replacing the mobo, would be to strip it all down onto a piece of cardboard, cleaning all the parts' circuitry and mobo slots as you go, re-apply thermal paste to the GPU and CPU, and cleaning the heatsinks and fan blades.

yeah it’s every usb port on the pc including the mobo io panel and front case ports.

i have tried just one device and it seems to not work.

I’ll give it a clean tomorrow and let you know how it goes.
cheers for the help
