I have Linux Mint 17.3 on a USB to try only. It,s not installed. Being such a Linux newbie. Why when i click Update Manager to do my updates. It takes them forever to complete. I will do the updates at night when i get off the computer and just let it update. It takes a couple hours. Anything i can do to make it faster on updates? Thanks Chuck

Couple of things here, Linux Mint 17.3 is now an older version and as such there will probably be heaps of updates, and unless you have some sort of persistence on your USB drive you'll have to get the same updates everytime. Of course things like your internet connection, and site congestion can affect the time it takes to download the updates..
