Solved Twitter is showing me a screen that says i need to authenticate my account

Thats what it says. Is it a scam? I havent clicked on authenticate.
 
When i try to log in on firefox it says this


Something went wrong.

You have exceeded the number of allowed attempts. Please try again later.
 
I cant even get to the account now. Says try again later on firefox and edge
 
I found a place to report a problem and did but all it lets me do is report the trouble. Here is the reply

You may want to wait and not try anymore until more help shows up.
I guess i will have to. I should have clicked on the link to authenticate myself but i was afraid it was a scam and i would get a virus. Instead i tried to log in on firefox and thats when it said i had too man attempts and try later.
