I tried to put in new ram to upgrade from 16 gigs to 32 gigs and I quickly realized that even though the ram was from the same company as my old ram it wouldn’t fit and it wasn’t compatible, so I put my old ram in and tried to start up my computer and everything works right except for my monitor which won’t connect, I hear the startup sound in my headphones and the keyboard and mouse both work. I never put the new ram into the slots for the old ram as I have 4 slots, so they shouldn’t of damaged the slots, but now I’m confused because I was carefull and why would it only cause a problem connecting to the monitor

Unless my eyes are deceiving me it looks like you have plugged the screen into a video port on the MB when it should be connected to the add on video card.
