Please download a copy of AdwCleaner from HERE, it is important to download it to your desktop.

Once downloaded to the desktop AdwCleaner will create an icon

Should you receive any security warnings or your User Account Control warning appears whilst you are using this application you can safely allow AdwCleaner to continue.

Before running AdwCleaner please ensure all other programs and browsers are closed, then double left click the icon to open it.

AdwCleaner will open, click the scan button to start searching.

The scan may take some time to complete, and when it has any malware found will be automatically selected for quarantining. Click the "Cleaning" button.

After a few seconds a message should tell you your computer will now reboot. Allow the reboot.

When the computer restarts a log file will be displayed, but if its closed for any reason before copying the contents, you will find a copy of the file if you navigate to C:\AdwCleaner[s#].txt

Yup I knew you had some remaining traces of PUPs left. There's always that few that like to hide ;)
I will have someone confirm your FRST log looks clean before I move your thread back to it's original place. After rebooting with a clean slate, run AdwCleaner one more time to ensure nothing remains, then run MBAM one more time to ensure no other detections are found. :) If that all checks out, you can remove AdwCleaner. To remove it:

  • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
  • Click on Uninstall.
  • Confirm with Yes.
We didn't run aswMBR so let's do that now. Click the link below and follow the post, then post your log back here. We're almost done, just need to make sure your computer is healthy and clean :)

Zoek Scan



Disable your antivirus prior to this scan.
Download Zoek
Save the file to your desktop.
Right click Zoek.exe and run as administrator. (Xp Users double click)
Copy and paste the items in red below and paste them into Zoek.

The log will appear after a reboot, also you can find it on the C: drive.

Run a full scan with Zemana AntiMalware!
Install and select deep scan.

  • Download RogueKiller and save it to your desktop
  • Close all running programs
  • Right click on the icon and select Run as Administrator
  • For Windows XP simply double click on the icon
  • The program will conduct a prescan and when finished you wlll see Prescan Finished. Please hit the scan button
  • Click Scan
  • If, during the scan, you receive a request to upload a file to Virustotal please click Yes
  • A report should open and a copy of the report will be placed on your desktop. If not, hit the Report button.
  • If RogueKiller has been blocked, do not hesitate to try a few times more. If it really won't run, rename it winlogon.exe (or winlogon.com) and try again
  • Copy and paste the contents of the report in your reply

Awesome :) I'm glad that it didn't Blue Screen again. Sometimes it happens, and I'm glad it was a one-time thing :)

Go ahead and follow Mal's instructions, starting with the Zoek Scan. :) We have to make absolute certain that your computer is clean and that malware is not causing FontXplorer to be sluggish. Better safe than sorry, and this way this'll ease any concerns about malware infections too :) With PUPs, you never know if they'll drop malware or not.

Ccleaner To disable Useless Startups.


Go ahead and install ccleaner Now that you have the program installed go ahead and run the cleaner function.

Now that you have cleaned out some temp files, lets go ahead and disable all of the items starting up with your machine except your antivirus. To do this you will need to click on tools then start up then under the Windows Tab select each item then disable. Also under the scheduled task tab, you are safe to disable all task. Only disable items under the windows tab and scheduled task tab!

Now that you have disabled those un-needed start ups lets go into the settings, we will have Ccleaner run when your machine boots, so that you will never have to worry about cleaning temp files again.

To do this:



  • Hit options.
  • Settings.
  • Place a tick to run Ccleaner when the computer starts.

Now go to the advanced tab, and select close program after cleaning, now run the cleaner again this will close Ccleaner.

Reboot the machine after.

Uninstall Useless Programs.

Remove these items from your machine with Geek Uninstaller - Use Force mode if needed. If a program is not listed in Geek Uninstaller then use D-Uninstaller

FRST Fix.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop. NOTE. It's important that both files, FRST/FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work. NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system Run FRST/FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run. When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post it to your reply.

On some machines it runs for 10 minutes, on some it will run for an hour. If it hangs after an hour then you will need to reboot, then just move onto the other instructions. Not to worry, the other tools are fairly quick at their job.

Can I just stop this and continue tomorrow? Can't seem to find a way though to close off zoesk as everytime I hit close it restarts. It's 2 am here in the uk. Need sleep
