Streaming HULU with smart tv

I have a 2016 Sharp Aquos Smart TV. it came with a few apps but HULU was not one of them. i have joined Hulu and it works fine on any of my computers but when i try to play a movie on my Sharp TV i get a message telling me I must update adobe flash. I have tried to update thru Google on the TV and it does nothing. I have downloaded Adobe Flash to a USB thumb drive and the TV wont read the drive. I was told that it is better to use a external streaming device like firestick or Chromecast but i dont know anything about those.
So i guess my question is which is the best way to stream to my TV and if streaming directly throught the tv is as good as a external streaming device how can i get Adobe to update. I have installed all the latest updates to the TV

Thanks, I have one more question. Would it be better to stream from a laptop to my TV or using a Roku stick ? . Which one will give me a better quality picture streaming HULU ?

I use both. There is no distinction in quality, with the caveat that I have high-end wifi and excellent signal strength. To quote my nine year old daughter, "I love my Roku".

The real difference is - my laptop driven TVs have many more options for sourcing content. And, more importantly than you might think, volume control.
The Roku consumes considerably less power and generates much less heat.

I highly recommend the Roku Premier, Premier+ (last years tech) - better wifi
and will soon purchase the 2017 Ultra because it has the volume buttons on the remote.
I only buy refurbished gear.

Also note:
Sooner or later, wireless display sucks.

Smart TVs are a great idea that should have stayed on the drawing board.

I have Intel compute sticks, Roku, Android TV boxes, Kangaroo PCs, BeeLink BT3 Windows box, desktop PCs and laptops connected to TVs of every kind. I even have an antique laptop displaying 1080p over VGA with hacked driver - On the worst day, every one of them is more capable and useful than a smart TV.
