Strange problem with SSD

Yes, we suggest this procedure to several people and is a basis diagnosing process.

We fully understand if you do not feel confident in doing this and or cannot do this.

You can wait and see what others suggest or take it to a service center and have them diagnose the drive.

If the system still has any warranty, contact them and see if it can be repaired under that.

Should I leave the laptop on? or can I turn it off? should I unplug the charger or can I leave it plugged in all the time? Can these kinds of operations if done superficially help damage the ssd?

as stated by others, it may just be SMART being over zealous.
it could also be the your checks have only accessed those areas of the drive that are good.
other checks are accessing different sectors or looking at the drive as a whole.

since the laptop is otherwise performing OK - yes - do a backup of your personal files while the sun shines!!!

not directly, that would be more of a battery potential 'reduce life span' issue.
but leaving the unit running all night, if the drive was performing I/O would naturally 'wear out' the drive faster if just running during daylight hours. all depends of what the drive is doing.
