Sony Laptop won't turn on, only power button blinking

Hi,

I've got a problem with my Sony Vaio VPCEA1S1E. It will not turn on or boot up but the light on the power button only flashes green once every couple of seconds. The only other light which comes on is the one which indicates it's receiving power when charging. Keep holding the power button for a moment and trying to turn the laptop on again afterwards doesn't fix the issue. It also doesn't start on AC power with the battery being removed. I also tried to replace the CMOS battery with a new one but this didn't fix the issue either.

Anybody knows what to do? Thanks in advance!

considering that laptop is around 10 years old, I'm thinking it isn't worth spending money on.
there isn't a lot one can do to a laptop for starters, and if you could, costing are always more when compared to desktop PC work and parts.
sounds like the quick and easy things have been tried.
you could always take it somewhere and get a quote but the common response for laptop work is "you need a new motherboard" and that's the most expensive part in a laptop.
