Hi guys,

I am new to the PC world after playing playstation for nearly 5 years. I recently got a 2020 Razer Blade with a 10th gen i7 and a 1660ti. It is my first gaming laptop so cut me some slack. I was able get windows 11 after buying this computer (second hand) but havent been able to get the gpu (1660) to work. It always uses the built in one and I do not even see it on task manager. Every time I try to update the drivers through Geforce Experience, it fully downloads, says it is installed, then immediatly asks me to install the drivers again. I have also tried doing it through nvidia directly as well as reinstalling. I am lost and cant figure out how to use the actual gpu :(

Don't forget the MTB report.

From the Speccy report;
Also, you can free up space using CCleaner or Glary Disk Cleaner or the inbuilt cleanmgr command can do most of those points.
Note: when running CCleaner, only run the Custom Clean, not the Health Check, or Registry clean, or Driver Updater features.
Also, when installing, be sure to check all pre-selected options carefully and not simply allow it to use default suggestions.
It may offer to install AVG Anti-virus, there is no need for this.
It will also add a Smart Cleaning process to Windows Startup and a couple of tasks to Task Scheduler – these can be disabled from within CCleaner.

Does the nVidia graphics card show under device manager? If not then check further under view>show hidden devices.
Did you ensure to click the yes/ok button to approve the installation?
If yes then you can try DDU to cleanly uninstall the driver to be able to install a fresh version. I’d suggest downloading the driver beforehand.
I updated nVidia yesterday but later there was another update so either it didn’t work the first time, there were two driver updates released or there’s a bug with the latest driver.

It shows under device manager but says error code 43, after I update the drivers, it says it’s working properly but still isn’t being used, I cannot use GeForce to assign it since it keeps telling me to update the drivers again

I’d try DDU.
Otherwise try an older driver.
Right click device.
Choose update driver.
Choose ‘browse my computer for drivers’.
Choose ‘let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer’.
Choose the compatible hardware from the list, then choose next.
Choose one of the older drivers from the list shown, then click next.
This will then reinstall the driver.

Hi guys! Sorry I have been busy with school so I have not had time to figure it out. I recently was able to wipe everything clean and use Geforce to reinstall drivers. The laptop used the 1660 for the whole day. But at the end of the day, it bluescreened, reset, and is doing the same thing again. I am at a loss. Has this happened to anyone else?

No need, everyone will see this. :)

Since you had it working for a day, I'm guessing a Windows Update, the reboot, or something got installed that mucked it all up again.

A good test, if not to fix it but at least to isolate the culprit, would be to re-wipe the drive and just get Windows installed and activated. Then get the 1660 working. Then update Windows and reboot.
Test 1660 is still working, if so, leave like this for a day or to.
Then gradually add one thing at a time - a game, or Office programs, or a printer, whatever - and see what stops the 1660 card.

I didn’t install anything after the graphics drivers, I already had steam and dbd (only game I have right now) downloaded beforehand. Would it still be possible that that caused the issue?

It shouldn't but you won't know for sure until the theory is proven, either way.
Theory is - keep it light and simple, get the 1660 working and don't change anything for a few days.
I wouldn't even have Steam or dbd installed, you want to be able to pinpoint the cause as much as possible.
