Run out of storage space PC

Hi guys, I have been running out of GB storage space for quite some time. I have been deleting files that take up alot of space but its exhausting and I wish there was a better solution.

I have 16gb left out of 362 on my main storage(C:). I also have an additional storage on my pc on a different hard drive. This drive is pretty much empty and has 500gb there.

How can I utilise this harddrive. Do i need to transfer all my files and programs to this harddrive? If so, will that give me better performance?

Any suggestions at all on what to do to optimise PC performance, IOd appreciate any help as Im a computer noob.

See screenshot for my storage.

Thanks alot guys

Have you tried to run the build in cleaning software.

Be careful of using third party cleaning software they can remove files that may be required for Windows to work properly.

Depending on the version of Windows you have will depend on what steps will be next.

Windows requires on average 30% to 35% free space including 32 GB free space for updates, 7-10 GB reserved for future proofing on the C drive.

This is not including and limited to what the system uses for backups, swap page and hibernate files.

I think your storage may be part of the C drive.
Can you take a screen shot of Disk manager.
Click on search and type in Disk manager.
To take a screen shot press the windows button + print screen button.
This will pt a picture into Pictures>Screenshots

Open an elevated command prompt.

Hit Start, type cmd then CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER

An elevated command prompt should open. In this prompt type powercfg -h off Hit enter.
Reboot. If you want to turn it back on, simply type powercfg -h on Hit Enter, and Reboot.

This is one way to reclaim space. It deletes the hiberfil.sys file. This is the file used in the hibernation function. This file can reach multi GB in size.
I have also witnessed this to fix a plethora of issues as the file quite often gets corrupted.
