RTX 3070 Slower Than a 3060 TI?

Hello,
I purchased RTX 3060 ti but got the chance to return it and get a 3070 at roughly the same price. I thought I would like a little more power at 1440p, though I know there's only a small difference between the cards. Some games it's running faster without a doubt but others it's undeniably slower. In AC Odyssey I went from 75 FPS with a 3060 ti on the benchmark to 66 FPS with and RTX 3070. I would not mind even if the scores were the same in some games but that's a significant performance loss. In AC Valhalla I'm consistently getting more frames on the 3070 both in game and on the benchmark. Someone told me it's a CPU bottleneck on CPU heavy games but another suggested I should return it and get a different card. YouTube benchmarks made me think it wouldn't matter at 1440P but there does seem to be some difference for certain CPU heavy games. Should I aim for a stronger CPU or return the GPU while I can? Thanks for any help or suggestions.

What speed is your RAM.

I went from 75 FPS with a 3060 ti on the benchmark

Stuff like the above should be banned, they get people stressed and can lead to people actually breaking something by trying to squeeze performance out of hardware that is simply not up to it.

For genuine results see the below;

Stress test your GPU with Furmark

Check your FPS etc with SUPERPOSITION
