Hi all,

Thank you anyone willing to help.

My laptop is meeting with an Inaccessible Boot Device Error.
I set up a MediCat Repair USB as my main toolkit. Have tried various interventions.

Boot-Repair-Disk has given me the following log:

Suggested repair: ______________________________________________________________

The default repair of the Boot-Repair utility would not act on the MBR.
Additional repair would be performed: win-legacy-basic-fix

I also ran the MemTest86. 4 passes resulted in 5 cumulative errors with a note that RAM may be vulnerable to high frequency row hammer bit flips.

Malwarebyes resulted in no malware detected.

Any advice on my next repair steps would be appreciated. Thank you!

age of laptop?
age of NVMe drive?
either under warranty still?

have you tried putting Windows 10 or 11 (whatever you have) on a USB stick via the Windows Media Creation Tool and wiping the drive and reloading Windows from scratch?

anything on the drive you want to keep?

sounds to me the drive has gone pear shaped.

Laptop and drive are three years old. Warranty was only for 1 year.

Have not yet wiped the drive for a clean install. Wanted to see if I could save it first.

Any advice on the MemTest86 and RAM issues?

high frequency row hammer bit flips sounds like a bit of a wank to me!
never heard of such a thing.
quick Google search suggests it is a exploit vulnerability issue and is only theatrically possible in lab conditions.

sounds like a thread we had here a few months ago about high energy electrons colliding with atoms in the memory lattice - all very techie and specific and in all probability, irrelevant.

Will try to reinstall Windows 10 when I have some spare time. Needed at the hospital due to lack of staff. Also my internet is down while I await a Modem/router replacement.
