Can you login to this site on the repaired computer?
Right click on start>Device manager.
Right click on the 4. high definition audio device cannot start code 1
Left click on properties
Click on the details tab
Click on the arrow next to the Device and change to Hardware ID.
What is the PCI/Ven on the first line.
Have a look at the pic in post#60 for a sample of what to look for.

That is what comes up as needed.
The number matches intel.
Can you go back to the device manger and right click on the audio device and choose update driver and let it search online.
I do not hold a lot of hope for this, But worth a try.

Besides the small bits we are trying to fix, How is the computer running ?

What happened to the original drive, why did you change it?
Do you still have it?

1.Unable to update driver search on line. 2. Fingers crossed, computer is running fine, have downloaded all my wifes data back to pc. 3. Last september my wife said the pc is playing up and started using her tablet instead. I tried the pc a number of times and it started odd behaviour which I could not understand and over time it began slowing down taking over many minutes to come on or to change anything. From what I could gather from the internet It could be a hard drive fault. Finally in december I decided to change the hard drive and bought a used one from ebay. I then joined pchelp forum and you helped me fix the pc which I am very grateful for. I have since taken the hard drive apart just to see how it works which might not have been a good idea!. That's my odd story but I am very slow doing most things these days but I try to keep doing different things just to keep me busy.

Can you Download and run and then post. https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy/download

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot dialog box. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

The last part of each URL is randomized, so only people you provide with the URL will be able to find your profile.
