you can get the license stored in BIOS with the following command, entered in the command prompt window; wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey

it all depends on whether your Windows version was OEM or retail.
the product key will also be stored on the MS activation servers.
either way, whenever you reinstall the same OS version, activation will be automatic.
