Hello!

Some weeks ago I've bought some fans and a new 4TB HDD for my PC. Since my MOBO has only 1 PWR_Fan and 2 SYS_Fan places, I had to use 1 Y adapter to be able to put install all the fans (4 in total), and because of the HDD, I had to use an extension cable for my DVDRW.

After I did these things, some days later my pc started freezing randomly nearly everyday. Freezing like really freezing. Randomly. While browsing the internet, moving my cursor around, or even having nothing opened and just clicking on the desktop. Would happen once or twice a day. The screen, the sound, the mouse, the keyboard, everything freezes, but I still could open and close the DVDRW. Tried looking for a crash report or anything like that, but windows does not let anything behind since it has no time to do so because of the freeze.

Anyway, I started taking out one by one every change I did to the PC that day, since that day this stupid thing started. Interesting to note is that until yesterday, it only once froze playing a video game. First I took out the DVDRW because I used an extension cable to it. Still freezing. Then took out one of the fans and the Y cable with it. For 2 days I had no freezes, but then it started again, for the first time I got a freeze while playing a video game. I took out the last thing, the 4TB HDD, but then browsed the internet for 20 minutes, then freeze. And now I completely reinstalled my Windows, thinking maybe there's an issue from there. But, to my surprize, it froze while preparing the files for installing the windows (after the reboot). So, maybe the issue is not from Windows?

I gotta say the freeze is no longer once a day, but like once one or two days. But I have no idea what is causing it, since it happens randomly. I'm all out of ideas... I thank you all in advance!

Have you gotten any BSOD or errors?

No BSOD, no errors, other than the sudden random freezes.

Did you try updating your computer's BIOS to the latest version? Are you overclocking any components? Have you tried removing all extra internal hard drives to see if the system still freezes with only your system drive installed?

The BIOS is updated to the last version, no overclocking, and removing all the HDDs from my pc means I got nothing to do using it (without them in it). And since the freezes are random, it takes sometime up to 3 or 4 days until the next freeze comes. I don't know if this is a good way to test, since it means I gotta use the PC 1 week without the HDDs, doing what?

Any updates for us?

Sorry for the late update. The freezes are still there, I get like one once 2-4 days. I disabled Windows Updates to test it maybe that can be the cause, but it makes no difference. The only 2 possibilities are (imo): 1. one of my hard-drives has issues 2. an windows update did something. Other than those 2 I have no clue. I gotta guess the first one is the one, but I did test all my HDDs with different softwares from the internet, none showing any errors. Is there a way to do 100% sure test the HDDs for problems?

I use Crystal Disk Info for testing my HDs. It's very easy, free, and gives very in-depth information about your HD/SSD.

Easy? I have no idea what am I doing. xD Downloaded the standard version, after installing I choosed the HDD and pressed ALL, and it did its thing quite fast. This is what came. I don't understand a thing from it.

No worries.

I have just found something that might really shed some light in my freeze case. I have not yet used the programs you said in the last answer, but I will in a sec. and then I will edit the post. But until then, just wanted to say that I just got my usual freeze (second since the reseats and scans), and I have found something big. So, it froze. Keyboard was not working, sound disappeared, and the mouse did not work (just like before), but this time, instead of pressing the reset button from my PC, I pressed the shut down button, but did not hold it. After some seconds I got the usual message you get to force close programs before shutting down the PC. This is pretty big, right? It means that the issue is not hardware-related, RIGHT?

We will see, you have a large amount of items running on your machine. The last set of instructions will reduce the load on your machine. Your Hard drives are in good shape, so we know at this time it is not that.

You mentioned that you did reinstall windows, so it might be an issue with updates installing a bad driver, or some of your software you have running is not playing nice with one another.

Doing what we are doing should find the issue, it is just a matter of narrowing things down. A longer process since I am not able to sit at the machine myself....

Please run PChunter again, this time click on the Kernel Module tab, then click File Corporation Once . Right click anywhere on the display, then click export display. Save it where you want name it what you want....

Open the generated txt, copy it all -- Post it here.

I'd rather you copy and paste the report as you would typing a reply, rather than attaching the file.

This report will tell me what drivers are running on your machine. I will compare that with the other information you gave to me.

This will tell me if there is something running that should not be doing so....

Done cleaning the temp files and fixing the items you said with Hijackthis and Temp File Cleaner.

Here are the results from PC Hunter: (By the way, something I forgot telling you before, PC Hunter gives an error after opening with the title "gvsjhfvlkqkkbc", saying "Load Driver Error!", the only clickable option is "OK" and then the program starts)
