Hello, I've been having some issues with my desktop the last couple days. Here are my specs:
  • CPU: Intel Core i5 14400F, 6 P-Core, 4 E-Core, 16-Thread
  • GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Super Ventus 2X
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B760M-C
  • RAM: TeamGroup Delta RGB 32GB DDR5 6000MHz (2x16GB)
  • SSD: Kingston 1TB NVMe SSD
  • PSU: ABS 750W 80+ Gold
My computer was working fine until I noticed my Ram LEDs weren't the right color, so I tried fixing it by using my motherboards program RGBFusion, which didn't work, so I downloaded my motherboards other program, Gigabyte Control Center, not aware that it supposedly causes many problems, and that didn't work either.

I saw that I had some updates for my pc in that so I updated them, restarted my pc, and got to this boot failure detected screen. I saw online to reset bios to default which I did, and when I restarted it everything was fine until the next day.
It's now stuck in a "preparing automatic repair" loop and after a couple of restarts it just freezes. My computer will refuse to go into recovery mode as well. I've tried pressing F keys and shutting it down when it turns on 3 times in a row, did not work.

I've tried Reinstalling windows 11 with a usb, with media creation tool as well as with rufus, it still freezes at the logo. I did it with and without the SSD in. It shows up on my bios so it's being recognized, and I made sure to switch the boot order. I've tried turning XMS off and on. Then I successfully updated my bios to the newest version, no problems there but it didn't help.

Finally I noticed my ram sticks, and they're both supposed to be 16gb sticks, so I'm very confused at why one of them is 256gb. Then I successfully reset my CMOS, and the 16gb stick is now not recognized, only the 256gb one is. I've switched both of them around to all slots, and the LEDS still work.

I'm at a loss of what next step I can do, I'm not sure if my SSD is corrupted, or if somehow I fried both of my RAM sticks at once, any help would really be appreciated.

Hello Toppernick,

As a starting point it is advisable to disable XMP, as to why is explained below;

The RAM is not appropriate for your CPU, Intel state here up to DDR5 4800MT/s and if you have XMP enabled the RAM will get auto OCd past what the CPU can handle and the PC will become unstable.

You should also make sure that the Windows Power Plan is set to Balanced and not Ultra or High Performance, Ultra and High Performance are a form of overclocking that is known to cause stability and overheating issues and the setting should only be used for gaming type notebooks that have a discrete GPU that needs the extra power, just stick with Windows own Balanced Power Plan.

Being that the OP revisited the forum but chose not to acknowledge my reply this thread will be closed.
