Hello guys, heres my System:

Win 10 Home
i7 10700k not OC
Motherboard: MPG Z490 Gaming Plus (Newest Bios Version)
32 GB RAM Corsair Vengeance
650 W Corsair PSU
2 SSDs ( 250GB, 1 TB), 1 HDD (750 GB)
RTX 2070 Super Asus Dual EVO Advanced
CPU Cooler: BeQuiet Dark Rock 4 Pro
Case: Bequiet Pure Base 600 (with the 2 Stock Fans)

I just reinstalled Windows 10, updated all Drivers (Windows Updates, Chipset Drivers etc.)

and my i7 10700k idles at 55 Celsius Degrees most of the time. it weirdly jumps from 52-60 all the time in IDLE, and CPU Frequence (Clock) is 4700 MHZ all the Time.
I have the Windows Energy Options on Balanced.
I applied a fairly big dot on the CPU (Grizzly Thermal Paste) and applied the CPU Cooler.
I dont know what I can do anymore, its just too hot.
My room temperature is 25 Celsius Degrees.
Thanks for the help!

Hi there @Steve and welcome to PCHF :)

You want to make sure you don't apply too much thermal paste. Too much is just as bad as not enough.

It sounds like your CPU cooler is starting to fail. If it's a fan cooler, does it make any noise and does the fan spin?

It's quite possible the CPU cooler is a dud. Take a look at the CPU cooler. Do you see any thermal paste coming out where the heatsink contacts the lid of the CPU?

The CPU is not de-lidded is it?

I just added 2 additonal system fans, one on the top of the case above the cpu cooler and one more at the front of the case.
Temps are still 30-55 in idle (always fluctuating) dont know why.
When downloading a game and while writing this its even 55-60.
And my CPU fan runs at 875 RPM most of the time at 67 Percent, is that normal or too less RPM?

But could a faulty motherboard cause heat problems? Because then I would change my z490 gaming plus with a z490 tomahawk to see if it's still there. Would I have to reinstall windows 10 for that?

Ok so just to be sure a faulty motherboard could cause high CPU temps? Because I assembled the PC, motherboard, gpu, CPU and all the stuff without earthing myself, I even let the PC plugged In one time without earthing myself. Could that have caused damage to my PC and maybe that's the reason my CPU is so hot? I haven't bought all the stuff yet so I could return it, so I'm thinking about returning it
