Hello again and thank you. I've bookmarked VirusTotal. I'm looking into UblockOrigin. The Firewall page, I don't understand. Is there an installation button there?
What the hacker did was get into my PC and change the name of my Windows USB Audio CODEC in Playback Devices. The word was one I used frequently in the chat of a live YouTube event.

Defender won't update definitions anymore, I guess because Windows no longer supports 8. Also, now I see error "Windows 8 defender has been turned off and isn't monitoring your computer anymore." I can't even find the defender service in Action Center. Firewall is ON.
