Should have been mentioned in your OP as it not only means that you are not using the SATA ports which was what your info implied it also means that the BIOS is set to boot from a USB device.
Sorry I'm not an expert. That why I came here for help and advice.

Best thing that you can do is go to option two here and download yourself a free Windows 10 USB thumbdrive ISO and then try clean installing Windows to the SSD using that.
Tried this but it was exactly the same experience as trying to install windows from the installation CD. The SDD is not detected, i.e. there is no where to install windows.

Two ways to check if it is the SSD itself;

Ask around to see if anyone you know has an external USB HDD/SSD enclosure that you can try the drive in or alternatively get yourself a secondary storage device such as a 1TB HDD, you should really have one in any event for backing your data up to.

I did check the setup with an old HD but I can't be sure the HD is okay given it was a cast off from my work. Also since trying the install from USD now my unit won't even power up (and I mean nothing no fans, rgb, bios, etc.)??

It seems like one step forward 5 steps back.
My initial experience building the PC was so enjoyable and devoid of issues but now.... I'm almost ready to chuck the whole thing in.

There is more gone and going on here than what we have been told which as a consequence means that PCHF cannot safely advise you.

Seek the help of a local tech and do yourselves both a favour, tell the tech exactly what has transpired from the get go.
