Pc lights up and sometimes powers on but sometimes doesnt

My pc sometimes powers on and sometimes doesn't power on. The lights on the case always turn on. The peripherals have lights that turn on when it boots, but not when it doesn't, so it isn't a display problem. It does not show a screen that says anything about the boot drive. I have replaced the psu and reseated the ram and cpu. I changed the ram slots. Just in case I even checked the drive cables. Just in case it somehow was graphics I also used the boards vgi while the gpu was out of the case. When it does turn on all of the settings stay the same so it isn't the cmos. I can't think of anything it could be but the motherboard. I just wanted a second opinion.

how long has this been going on for?

have you checked that everything is compatible - motherboard and memory, memory and processor, is there a BIOS update for the GPU - all that fun stuff!

I got given the computer from my uncle. I believe other than the gpu the parts are what came with the pc. It Is the hp envy 700-030qe and it has a 1050ti. I am locked out of the bios because there is a bios password and I don't know it. I don't know if I can update the bios without being able to get in, but I did update the gpu drivers with nvidia experience.

use the AVG removal tool here; https://www.avg.com/download-thank-you.php?product=REM
to completely remove AVG from your system - simply no need for it now Windows Defender is as good as any of the 3rd party offerings.

also remove the Cloudfare VPN software for now.

C:\ has only 6% free, D:\ has only 7% free, freeing up some space won't hurt!

can you ask your Uncle for the BIOS password?
it's ten years old, and there will be some bug fixes and security enhancements.

have you tried running the PC with only only memory stick at a time?

what is the make/model of the PSU?

The psu is a corsair hx620w.

I will try each stick of ram by themselves in multiple slots to try that.

I was wondering how to Uninstall avg (I just needed it for a scan to see if a virus could be causing the issue), so thanks for that.

I'll delete some old games for more storage, I like having cloudflare, but I will delete it for a little while.

I'll ask him for the bios password, but I don't know if he'll know it because he works on a lot of computers and this was just one he had lying around.

I'm betting there was a problem, as there always is in this situation, with an incorrectly connected power supply. To start with, simply reset the motherboard, move the ClearCMOS jumper or, with the 230V power supply completely disconnected, remove the battery from the motherboard for 2-3 minutes. Without the battery, press the power button on the case a few times so that the board completely discharges the capacitors. Then replace the battery and try to boot the main components: motherboard, cpu, ram, graphics and power supply - disconnect everything else, check later when everything has booted up. If, after that, nothing starts, check that the fan is connected to the correct CPUFan socket and that you have connected all the necessary power supplies to the motherboard. The next thing to check would be the power supply unit and you need to swap it for another 100% working one...but time is running out for an answer
