Solved PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA can't get into Windows 10

Hello. I'm going to give you as much detail as I can and hope that you can help.

I was using my machine normally, while charging my phone from it via a USB 3 cable, and it kept reconnecting, until eventually it crashed the USB 3 somehow. There is one other external device I connect via USB 3 and that is my wifi adaptor, which also stopped working at that point. The PC was functioning normally except without internet access This has happened before and has been solved with a restart, or disabling abd enabling USB3 components in device manager and then restarting.

However, this time when I restarted I got to the stop page, with the error

• PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

and can get no further.

This is what I've tried so far:

Restarting in various startup options from the menu available that includes safe mode with and without networking, disabling driver signature enforcement, etc. I hit the same BSOD wall each time.

Uninstalling resent windows update.

System Restore (it couldn't find any restore points, even though I'm sure I do have some, albeit quite old ones now).

Automatic repair - unsuccessful.

I did manage to complete a chkdsk of the relevant hard disc from command prompt, but it found no errors and didn't get me anywhere.

I've tried disconnecting everything and then restarting with just keyboard and mouse.

I did manage to boot into Windows 7 on an old hard disc, but I can't get on the internet and Windows 7 isn't recognising a lot of my newer hardware components, is and plugging my wifi adaptor into a normal USB2 socket hasn't helped. I have been able to access all of my files on my various hard disc, copied them across to the one running Windows 7, and so all my personal data and work appears safe for now.

Not being able to get online from this machine has severely limited what I can do. I suppose I could get hold of another WiFi adaptor and try that, but any other suggestions would be very welcome.

I would love to be able to get into windows 10 safe mode somehow and maybe have a go at disabling and reenabling the USB3 in device manager there. My gut tells me that would be the solution, but I need to get past this stop page to do that.

I should add that below the error it says "What Failed: Tpkd.sys

Also, I have since returned to Windows 7, and upon booting it did a lengthy disk check for the disc on which Windows 7 is running. It seemed to make a lot of repairs during the indexing stage. Then it went into Windows 7 normally but I couldn't get it to recognise my Wifi adaptor (the LED on the device won't even come on).

I also went back into cmd and tried a few things I found suggested on another web page, but I couldn't get SFC or DISM to run no matter what parameters I tried.

I did another check disk involving dismount and that turned up no errors on the windows 10 volume. I don't suppose there's a way to get it to do the lengthy version on bootup that windows once before did for me on a different drive, if indeed that would help?

OK. I think I have found the solution. It turns out Tpkd.sys is a file corrupted by installing certain audio software that uses iLok for licensing. I didn't consider that and assumed it was related to the USB 3.0 crash. I found a video with a guide to get back into windows by remaining the file from cmd, which I have managed, and now I shall follow the rest of the guide from within windows. My Wifi adaptor is online running off USB2 and I'm confident I can sort out the USB 3 as well. All good.

So there we go. Audio software. Funnily enough kontakt player caused me problems a couple of years ago, but I just fixed that with System Restore and then found a way to stop it happening again. Note to self. Always be wary of new audio software especially involving VSTs.
