Solved Nvidia gpu not detected, can't reinstall driver

Hello, I hope someone can help me.


I have a nvidia gpu for a few years, it always worked fine. It had 473.04 driver.
I haven't played any games for a while and I haven't turned on the computer for about 4 days.
Yesterday, I used the computer for a couple of hours, just to copy files. Then I suspended it for a couple more hours.
When I came back and woke it up, there was no video input. It only showed image again after I plugged the hdmi cable directly to the motherboard.

The Gpu is not detected in Windows Device Manager (not even the "Show hidden devices").
The GPu fans are still working.

I used DDU to uninstall nvidia drivers.

Before I used ddu, on the nvidia driver downloads page, it didn't auto-fill my gpu, and now it does. I don't know if it's relevant.

But now I can't install any drivers because it says "nvidia graphics is not compatible with this version of window". Even the driver that I had before.

1. Could my gpu be dead?
2. Is it normal for the gpu to die during computer suspension?
3. How can I get pass the driver installation error, considering that I always used this driver version on this windows.

OS windows 7
GPU MSI GTX750 Ti TwinFrozr OC 2GB DDR5
CPU Intel Core i5 4570 (3.2GHz) Socket 1150
Motherboard Asus B85M-G

I'd be removing the card, wiping the contact points and the board's circuitry with a soft bristled brush.
Also do the motherboard slot.
Reseat the card and make sure any power cables are securely connected.

You can also try, while the card is removed, running the rig on the mobo GPU port and removing the NVidia drivers then.
Leave them uninstalled when you put the card back in and start the PC and see if it loads drivers itself.

But yes, the card can go at anytime, even in suspend mode as the system is still powered.

Thank you! I will remove the GPU and try what you said. I already removed the nvidia drivers witg DDU.

Problem solved. Thank you all for the help!
Turns out the hdmi entrance is damaged for some reason. Before, I had tried 3 hdmi's cables that I knew were working, but I didn't had dvi or vga cables (but to be honest, I didn't even thought it could be a damaged hdmi slot).
I managed to try the GPU on another computer that had a DVi cable and it worked. I got it back on my computer with a dvi cable and already installed the drivers.
