Yes...bad choice....Rosewill is known for subpar parts in their components. Recommended brands are: Seasonic, XFX, Antec, EVGA....they are more expensive but you get what you pay for. It's a big "NO NO" to mix PSU cables. Use only the cables that come with the PSU.

Hmm, I guess more bad advice I followed. I was under the impression that rosewill was a good brand. As for the cables the 1000 watt psu in now is rosewill quark platnum I assumed they would have the same cables, the back of the psu is the same, so I had thought I could just change it and plug everything right back up.

The bummer is I was going to get the evga but went with the rosewill out of pure laziness, what a noob!!!!

Yes, the one I have and the one I ordered are both fully modular. Yet I still find myself using ties behind the mother board to keep everything right and in place. Also from the psu to the gpu the cables are long so I them up

Completed Test with no shut down, I don't know if that's a good score, I am happy to make it to the end!

Hi Papa,

Glad that it worked out for you :) I prefer my Antec PSUs due to their reliability but as long as it isn't shutting down anymore, that's a very good sign :)

Edit: Now I see that it only did one GPU. Are both running in CF mode? The only TRUE test to verify this issue is resolved is to run both GPUs in CF configuration and run the test to verify no shutdown and completion of the test. If you complete it, I'm curious to your results :p

In relation to your question if the score is good or not, it is. You're achieving 156 Frames per Second (FPS), which is high-end and most people only score 5000 or lower. Your score is awesome :)

Have a very busy day today, so I will make report/answer when I get back in. :)

Furmark Reads both gpu as one in crossfire mode. But es both cards were running during that test. It shows them both as GPU 1. Maxed at 86 celcious, these cards are hot, but I still think that is maybe a little high. So will be looking into cooling /air flow. Gotta run.

THank you guys for all your help will answer more later....

I have read that the 390 max temp is around 94c. As i have also noticed that these cards get really hot and also to remember the room temp also counts in this as well. One little tid bit i found that you may be interested in...... https://community.amd.com/thread/198965

I would check to see if your cooler is running correctly. Make sure your air flow is good as well. This you will see in that link i gave you. Another thing i noticed that the 390 is based off the 290 design.


EDIT: What psu did you go with..

I went with the Rosewill Quark 80+ platnium 1200 fully modular
Yes I will be working on cooling. The fans on gpu are working, gpu's are not liquid cooled. CPU is liquid cooled and pum pis working. Just got in a few minutes ago. more to come later

Oh and I found the vent closed :( in the room, so yeah that will help. :)

Oh yes. I realized that was an older pic when I first assembled I put cards in first two slots. I later realized that slots 1 and 3 were x16 and 2 and 4 are x8, so I moved the card down a slot. Hoping to have some time today to do some more testing and reads and give more feedback. It looks like this solved the issue. Will upload another pic once I get my desk cleared today.
