My pc worked but when I got home from school it said no signal. The TV works on my Xbox and I've switches out the hdmi so it can't be the tv or the wire. I've reset my pc nothing and I've tried 1 ram stick nothing. Any help would be appreciated. And when I replug the hdmi cable the lights on my keyboard flash im guessing it detected something when the hdmi went in but still no signal.

Durning the ride home something may have jarred loose open the system.

reseat the following
power and data cables
Display Card
RAM
Power Supply to the motherboard

DO NOT do the CPU.

Make sure to discharge the power and yourself before opening the system and tinkering.

I just finished reseating them but still no signal. All the lights are on but the mouse lights and keyboard is off

Is this a prebuilt system?
Make and model?

Post complete system specs including the make and model of the power supply.

By the way are you connecting to the display port in the motherboard and or the display card?

What do you hear when you power on the system?

This is a pre-built my parents got me for christmas.

EVGA GeForce GTX 1060
Asus Tuf Sabertooth 990fx
Can't figure out what the power supply
Or what the cpu is
I am connecting it to the display card because there are not ports for my motherboard that connect to hdmi.

The original guy we bought it from removed the post since we bought it.

When it turns on i don't hear much just the fans spinning.

Edit:
You mention connecting to the TV via HDMI then in a later post say your laptop doesn’t have an HDMI port. Are you using some sort of adapter?

Original post:
Check that the TV is on the correct HDMI output channel.
I have a pc not a laptop also I saw in a video where there were 2 ports. One to the gpu and one to the motherboard. The hdmi port i have is connected to my gpu. And I checked the output as well.

No worries if you cannot find the information can decently get you in the proper place.

See of this image helps if you still have issues no worries.

Is the display card plugged into power?

Does the new monitor have only HDMI connection, or does it have DVI too?
Might try that and see what happens.

Are the fans spinning on the Display card?

When a flashlight is shun through the holes its very similar to the image but I can't really see through too much to get information.

Yes I'm guessing the display card is plugged in since the lights are on.
The monitor has both VGA and HDMI. I only have a hdmi cable right now. I will get a VGA wire tomorrow to test it out.
And the fans on the display card spin when started up but then stops after a couple of seconds

Remove the side panel just like you did to reset the hardware and stuff.

You need to make sure the card is plugged in.

Which may be why you have no display.

I've tried 1 ram stick nothing
How many RAM sticks are there total and are they in the correct ports?

For this will need to refer to the manufacture's manual.

Any one thing that is loose even slightly can cause this and how old is them?

The card is plugged in (the lights are on and the fans spin)

I have 2 ram sticks thats been in the same spot since I got it (pc worked since Christmas) and I don't know how old they are.

Here's a photo of the pc if you spot any problems.

Have you ensured the TV is on the correct HDMI channel? Still not clear as to whether this has been checked. This is done on the TV so would be input.
Have you used Project screen on the PC to share your PC screen to the TV?

The new one i have is a monitor now but still no problem and yea its in the right channel.

Also I can't seem to find out what a project screen is but I haven't used that.

Strip the system down to the bare properties and see if it shows anything.

Make sure that the CPU fan is plugged into the proper port.

Try a different display card.

Assemble the system outside of the case to see if that make a difference using the bare minimal for it to run.
