Solved new USB-C to HDMI not working

Status

Hi,
I have an hp laptop: AMD Ryzen 5 5500U, 16.0 GB RAM, 64-bit Windows 11 Home Version 22H2
I bought a new Gold Touch USB-C to HDMI adapter, but it is not working. Any screen that I connect to it is not recognized.
The screens are working and the HDMI cable is working when I plug them in directly to the HDMI port (not via the usb-c adapter).
When I plug the adapter in, this is the device driver that is added:

I tried updating it but it is already up-to-date.
I tried downloading a driver from the HP website, but my OS is not there (latest is 21H2, mine is 22H2)
I downloaded it anyway and it didn't work

Help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply :)
System Model: HP Laptop 15-ef2xxx
I did not find a make in the system information.

I already have one screen connected to the HDMI port and want to connect a second one so I bought the type-C to HDMI adapter

I've tried both with a TV and a pc monitor and both work directly through the HDMI and both don't work through the type c adapter.
About the usb type, here are the details in device manager:

I have 2 'regular' usb ports and one type-c, not sure from the device manager which is which.

Everything that I have looked at is showing that they USB C on your system is not the correct one and is Data only.

The adapter will not work with that system sorry.
Bummer but thank you so much for the quick replies!
One last question then - if I buy a usb-C docking station that has hdmi ports, could it work to connect a monitor to it? Or will it have the same problems as the type-c to hdmi adapter?
