Solved New 2 RAM not working together - MSI GE62 7RE Apache Pro

Hi, that may be long, so thank you for reading and trying to help (and sorry for the faults, English not first language)

So Firstly, I have an MSI ge62 7RE Apache Pro (https://www.topachat.com/pages/deta...que_est_w_porgam_puis_ref_est_in10102202.html)
I currently have 16Go in RAM (2x8, only 2 slot in pc)

And i wanted to upgrade to 32Go (2x16). The pc can go to max 32 go it was specified in the above link.

And to be sure to buy the right RAM i used Crucial to see what was compatible and where I could buy it (https://www.crucial.fr/store/systemscanner)

Here is the Result (sorry its in French but it just says that the best are these 2 RAM at 16Go)
And Here is the link of the RAM (https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B07Q8TNXKP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

AND NOW THE PROBLEM

So i tried to change the 2 old RAM with the 2 new but black screen (no acces to Bios or WIndows, can do nothing at the start)
So I tried to put back the old 2 one to see if everything was ok everything was normal.
I tried 2 times with only 1 of the new one and 0 old one and still black screen.

So I tried 1 old and 1 new and miracle that booted and WIndows was working perfectly and the RAM was recognized and I had now 24go usable.
I tried the same with the other new Ram and that was the same as just before so they are working perfectly.

SO to make it simple the 2 new RAM are only working when coupled with an old one and I would like to have the 2 at the same time.

HERE IS WHAT I ALREADY TRIED

- I tried every combination to verify that they were working (and I only have 2 slot)
- I reset my CMOS (take back battery, press 30 second on power to drain pc and wait 30min) but changed nothing
- I I have Disabled Fast Boot.
-I flashed my Bios (with 2018 version of MSI site) but i can't do the update of 2021 because Live Update 6 is not working on my pc and when I just try the .exe of the update the Bios stay at the 2018 version

And I think that's all. Thank you for reading and your future help.

I have just downloaded the manual
It does not give information on the bios settings.
You will need to look through the settings
or you could send the ram back and get DDR4-2400
It should work .
I can not gurantee 100% it will but it will be ram that is in specification

Hello, firstly thank you for your response
I know that the new one are to high but normally my it should downgrad itself and if not, that was the point of the flash of the bios and the reset of the CMOS because in my BIOS i don't know how to have access to the Frequency of the RAM.

I saw people talk about that solution but my BIOS is and old one even if it's the latest version avaible.

Here on the MSI site (https://fr.msi.com/Laptop/GE62-7RE-Apache-Pro/support#down-bios)

I have the version E16J9IMS.324 and did the latest update called version ME11886 but my BIOS still has the E16J9IMS after that and look like that (not my picture)

Is it normal or should he look like that right now ? And i saw that there is an advanced setting sometimes hidden in the BIOS to have access at the ram frequency but only when the BIOS was looking like the one below.

No you are reading it wrong
E16J9IMS.324 is the latest update. You have the latest update
ME11886 is NOT a bios update

The bios setting you have is legacy bios
the second picture is UEFI bios.
DO NOT change or your computer might not boot.
Look under the advanced tab on your bios for RAM settings.
If it let's you change it bring it back to 2400 and also check the voltage on you ram stick and match
I think your new ram is 1.2v CHECK.
I know that the new one are to high but normally my it should downgrad itself
I disagree - BUT I am not an expert

That's ok thank you very much for your help I just succeeded just needed to go to BIOS and change ram frequency bus since I had the legacy version. Had to find how to access the hidden Advanced features.

It was really well hidden but managed to put it in 2400 and now everything seems to be going well.

Thank you man, do I have to close the thread or something ?
