Hello,
The laptop is working great when in Discrete Graphic mode. Excellent performance. No overheating.
The moment I change to MSHybrid mode is when it will start to randomly freeze within 10 to 20 min after on.
Sometimes it may take an hour. Most of the time no error massages, mouse and keyboard unresponsive.
Buzzing sound if I was watching video and it will shut off in 2min if I don`t press and hold power button.
Yet occasionally blue screen of death showing: VIDEO DXKRNL FATAL ERROR. Here is the minidump read:

I`ve tried reinstalling the graphic drivers from MSI with DDU tool, latest BIOS , latest Windows update and even a clean Windows install didn`t help.
Also I`ve found that running a small program called TrayPwrD3 would stop freezing and makes system totally stable. What this program do is basically keeps you dGPU on.

Upon further examination I can say that the laptop will freeze only if the nvidia gpu is set to off by the system for power/battery saving.

This is regardless of graphic mode selected and will happen in discrete graphics mode as well but only if I let the monitor to go off do to an inactivity=dgpu off.

Im not sure what really is happening. It might be the nvidia itself are trying to wakeup from sleep for no reason and fails.

I've run torture test on the cpu and gpu's - furmark, intel cpu diagnostic tool, cinebench and no errors. As long as the nvidia graphic is on the laptop will perform as expected.

You do not need the program discrete mode does this already.
So my only option now is a motherboard swap but still
I would clean and reapply thermal paste on the onboard graphics chip.
I will look at your Speccy also

Hi PeterOZ, Thank you for your replay.

Yes that's the exact model MSI GE76 Raider 11uh core i7 + gtx 3080 variant.

Clean and reapply thermal paste is always good but this laptop is fairly new only 2 months old and doesn't seems to have overheating issues so far.

I will run speed fan test and post a screen shot later today.

Here is the speed fan screen capture:

Well just wanted to thank you for your effort in helping me but at this point I think I`ll give up.

I`ve done anything I can to exclude a software problem or a driver conflict. If this is a hardware problem way it`s only triggered when the discrete GPU is off is a mystery to me.

I will send the laptop to service center after the holydays. Merry Christmas to all. Thank You.

Sometimes the newer drivers are not always the best
If this is a hardware problem way it`s only triggered when the discrete GPU is off is a mystery to me.
Because when the GPU is off it is using the onboard graphics.
Merry Christmas to all. Thank You.
Sorry I could not get you fixed.
Merry Christmas. (It is Christmas morning here)

Because when the GPU is off it is using the onboard graphics.
I`ve proven that the onboard graphic are actually working and has being use by the system for video, internet browsing etc. just fine as long as the discrete GPU is kept on. This in Hybrid mode using the program mentioned above for keeping the discrete GPU on and idle if needed.

I’m sort of still worried it may be overheating when the discrete GPU is not the primary GPU.
elevating the laptop and having active cooling even in the form of a simple fan should confirm this.
but at only 2 months old, admittedly, unlikely.

but also, at only 2 months old, could this be a warranty job?

was the laptop doing this from day one?
